The Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exhibition (OFC) 2023 will be held from March 7-9, 2023, in San Diego, USA.
It is the world’s largest conference and exhibition for optical communications and networking professionals, attracting researchers, industry leaders, and academics from around the world.
It attracts researchers, industry leaders and academics from around the world, providing them with a unique platform to exchange ideas and knowledge. More than 15,000 participants from over 70 countries are expected to attend this year’s event.
We will present together with the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI) at the conference and will showcase current innovations in the area of Photonic Components, Networks, and Systems at Fraunhofer booth 4519. HHI is one of the world’s leading developers of mobile and optical communication networks and systems as well as video signal coding and data processing. Together with international partners from research and industry, Fraunhofer HHI works across the entire spectrum of digital infrastructure – from fundamental research to the development of prototypes and solutions.
The department Hybrid PICs’ integration technology PolyBoard combines polymer-based PICs with InP. This enables complex photonic integrated circuits, such as waveguide-integrated THz receiver PICs for wireless communications and self-calibrated laser sources for telecommunications, datacom, sensing and spectroscopy. The THz receiver PIC uses tunable lasers, modulators and isolators to achieve on-chip injection locking and inject the THz signal into the waveguide-integrated photoconductive antenna. The self-calibrated laser source uses the function of the micro-optical bench on the PolyBoard, which enables precise wavelength readout through thin-film filters, etalons and photodiodes. The two PICs are funded by the EU TERAWAY and TERAmeasure projects.
We are pleased to be part of this global gathering and is excited about the networking and collaboration opportunities it will provide.
